Attorney Michael J. Bartee, P.A. has practiced criminal, traffic and juvenile law since his graduation from law school in 1987.  He began his career as a prosecutor in Manhattan, Kansas, where he handled all types of criminal cases.  In 1989, Mr. Bartee moved to Olathe, Kansas, to help found the Johnson County Public Defender Office.  There, he worked as an assistant public defender, then deputy public defender for 13 years.  As a public defender, Mr. Bartee defended criminal cases of all types and severity levels, including many serious felonies such as murder, kidnapping, and rape.  He also conducted dozens of jury trials and obtained favorable plea agreements for clients in countless cases.

In 2003, Mr. Bartee established the law office of Michael J. Bartee, P.A. to continue his work as an aggressive criminal defense lawyer for residents of Johnson County and Kansas. He handles all types of felonies, misdemeanors, traffic and juvenile offenses, including drug possession and sales, DUI, and domestic violence.  Mr. Bartee also has an extensive practice conducting appeals for those who have been convicted of crimes   Mr. Bartee is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Johnson County Bar Association and the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.  He has lectured at numerous continuing legal education seminars on a variety of topics dealing with criminal law and procedure in Kansas..
